Getting Your Piece to You
Every order travels fully insured, tracked and signed for, at our expense. A piece that has survived a hundred years deserves a careful last mile.
What It Costs
UK delivery is free on every order, whatever the value. There is no minimum spend and no express surcharge — insured, tracked delivery is simply how we send things.
Shipping outside the UK is quoted case by case, because insurance and customs handling differ by country. Message us before you order and we will confirm the cost and the carrier for your address.
When Your Order Is Dispatched
Orders are checked by a member of our team before they leave us, usually within one working day of payment. That check is not a formality: the piece is inspected once more, weighed, photographed as packed, and matched against your order.
You will receive tracking details by email as soon as the parcel is collected. If a piece is being sized, cleaned or repaired before dispatch, we will tell you the timescale when you order — we would rather send it right than send it fast.
Pieces bought on a deposit are held securely and dispatched once the balance is settled.
How It Is Packed
Each piece is wrapped in acid-free tissue, boxed, and then packed inside plain outer packaging. Nothing on the outside of the parcel says what is inside or who it is from — discretion matters when a box holds gold.
If your order is a gift, tell us at checkout in the order notes and we will leave the paperwork out of the parcel and send it to you separately.
Insurance and Loss in Transit
Every parcel is insured for its full value while it is in transit and until it is signed for. Until that signature, the risk is ours, not yours.
If a parcel goes missing or arrives damaged, tell us straight away. We will open the claim with the carrier ourselves and put things right with you directly — a refund or a replacement where one is possible. You do not deal with the courier; we do.
Delivery Addresses
- A signature is required, so send your order somewhere it can be received in person — a home address with someone in, or a workplace.
- We cannot leave parcels in a safe place or with a neighbour. That is a condition of the insurance, not a preference.
- Check the address before you pay. Once a parcel is collected we cannot redirect it; message us immediately if something is wrong and we will do what we can.
Need it by a particular date?
Tell us before you order and we will be straight with you about whether we can do it.
