Antique 18ct Yellow Gold Sapphire and Diamond Ring, Chester 1908

Over 115 years old, this is such a lovely example of an early 20th-Century gemstone ring, with its rich blue sapphires, old-cut diamonds and wonderfully detailed gold setting.

The ring features three graduated oval-cut blue sapphires, with the largest taking centre stage and a smaller sapphire positioned to either side. Nestled between them are four old-cut diamonds, arranged in pairs and set within decorative diamond-shaped sections of gold.

We particularly love the setting on this one. The pierced and carved gallery gives the ring beautiful detail from every angle, while the substantial tapered shoulders flow seamlessly into the gemstone-set head. There is a softness and character to the stones that you simply don't find in modern jewellery, and the visible signs of age are all part of its antique charm.

This is a gorgeous original Edwardian ring that has already survived more than a century and deserves to be worn and loved for the next one.
